There are four steps to making beautiful LightScribe discs on your own PC:

1. Get a LightScribe Drive: You'll need a LightScribe media enabled drive to print on LightScribe disks. They are available for desktop PCs or on notebook PCs as an external drive. Look for the LightScribe logo when you purchase the drive. Notebook drives may have slimmer front bezels with no room for the logo, so check the laptop for a LightScribe Media sticker. Look for the LightScribe Logo!
2. Get LightScribe System Software: You can download the latest version of the LightScribe System Software for Mac, Windows, and Linux
3. Get LightScribe Application: LightScribe Software is available for whatever is bundled with your recorder. The LightScribe Template Labeler is available for Windows. The LightScribe Simple Labeler is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The LightScribe site has a great Design Center, which helps you create some super artwork with your LightScribe discs and drive. The monochrome nature of the LightScribe thermal print can be used to create some beautiful images. While the print is not color, using the right type of picture and artwork can make a huge difference in how your disc looks.
