Taiyo Yuden is in the process of moving most of their part numbers to JVC part numbers. Last year Taiyo Yuden purchased JVC's media group and became one, taking advantage of JVC's royalty deals on blank discs. Part of this cost-saving agreement was to change the marketing name of Taiyo to JVC, so they could take advantage of the JVC's more broadly known name. As Taiyo Yuden marked inventory gets sold all Taiyo product will come with the JVC marking. The base product is exactly the same and up to the same quality standards as the Taiyo Yuden. Taiyo Yuden DVD-R, 8x Silver Inkjet

Taiyo Yuden builds the most consistent DVD & CD recording media available today. With the the best combination in playback performance, recording reliability, and print surfaces, using Taiyo Yuden DVD-R can eliminate problems you may be having with DVD disc playback in laptops and DVD players. Taiyo effectively eliminates marginal recording errors. When burning your DVD-Rs, you can dramatically reduce the fallout or error rate when using Taiyo Yuden. Our experience has been defective Taiyo Yuden is a rarity, and using Taiyo DVD can bring your bad media ratio to under 1%.

Using this media will give you a recording time of 6-7 minutes when recording a full disc at 8x, as compared to 16x which will burn in about 5-6 minutes.

The Silver Inkjet Surface
Taiyo Yuden’s Silver Inkjet surface is a popular product for MediaSupply.com, but the consumer should make sure Silver inkjet is what you really want. Many times a white inkjet Taiyo Yuden DVD can be a better fit with full color print, as the white background can be a better base for inkjet printing on DVDs. If you are looking to use the metallic look of the Silver surface to accent your artwork, then the silver inkjet surface can be a real plus, often bring well designed artwork to life. One aspect to keep in mind is the “mirrored” silver reflective layer on a DVD-R can give you a different look than printing on a Silver Inkjet CD-R.
