To help make your CD or DVD presentation the best it can be, Media Supply, Inc. has compiled the following advice to minimize problems that may occur as we take your CD or DVD duplication project from creation to completion. Nobody likes surprises, and Media Supply, Inc. can help eliminate them.

Make the best master disc:

  1. The best equipment, software and supplies make the best Master Discs.
    1. Be sure your CD or DVD recorder is compatible with your user’s players, is functioning properly and is of good quality. Media Supply recommends recorders with Plextor® drives. Our CD duplication and DVD duplication equipment is designed to be particular about what masters are used to insure we only copy usable data. If your audio master has scratches and errors, it won't be usable. Ask a Media Supply customer service person for recommendations.
    2. Use a good quality Disc for your Master. Industry Standard brands are Taiyo Yuden, MAM-A(Mitsui) and Verbatim.
    3. Use a professional software package to master your discs.
  2. Making the cleanest graphics:
    Design your artwork to be as clean and crisp as possible. Using the templates provided on our website will provide artwork that is the right resolution to create a beautifully finished product. If you have questions on supplying artwork or working with our templates, please contact us.
  3. Protect your copyrights:
    Media Supply, Inc. believes in protecting intellectual property rights. The following steps will make your job easier in the long run.
    1. Copyright all your materials -- Register all your work with the U.S. Copyright office. If you have written a song, you may also want to license your song with a performing arts society like ASCAP or BMI
    2. Obtain all your third party rights-- For Software, make sure you have licensed any applications that require it, like WinZip, QuickTime, Stuff It, Acrobat & Windows Media Player. Most of these product's websites have simple instructions to follow to complete this process. When asking us to copy Music, you must secure the proper permissions to copy all songs you sample or include on your master. Contact Media Supply, Inc. for resources that will assist you in securing these rights. When asking us to reproduce Video, make sure you have obtained rights for all video and music in your content.
    3. Download an Intellectual Property Rights Form (IPR). Here
  4. Choose the right packaging:
    Your Media Supply, Inc. representative will take the time to work with you to find the perfect packaging for your job. With over 15 years in the disc manufacturing business, Media Supply, Inc. has worked with just about every form of packaging available, and can point you towards the packaging that fits your Marketing and price requirements.   • What else you need to know:
    1. Media Supply, Inc. requires a 50% deposit on all custom CD & DVD manufacturing jobs.
    2. CD Duplication, CD Manufacturing, DVD Manufacturing, and DVD-ROM copy services can be subject to a 5% over or under run.
    3. Production times are based on emailed, digital proofs.
    4. We guarantee that your copy will match your master. We will test the quality of the master disc so the recording process is not affected, but we do not test for:
      1. Non-functioning computer programs
      2. Auto-Start discs that don't auto-start.
      3. Audio discs that have scratches and pops.
    5. Expect major artwork changes, disc editing and the mailing of a physical proof to lead to delays in the completion of your job. Media Supply, Inc. is not responsible for delays caused by this process.
